Where did you grow up?

I grew up in Lynn, AR.  A little town near Strawberry and Powhatan.

Where did you go to school?

I went to school in Lynn and I was also homeschooled for 5 years.

Brag about your family.

The LORD God has blessed me with my wife, Brandy.  She is my best friend and soulmate. We have 4 children─ Tylan, Madeleine, Christopher and Maggie. 

What do you do for fun?

For fun, I go on road trips with the family, play billiards and piano, and watch movies.

What was your first job?

I was the IT Lead for Hazelett Drilling Company (I was the only IT person, but I did a good job leading myself.)

What is your dream job?

An F/A-18 pilot in the U.S. Navy.

What is something very few people know about you?

In the year 2014, I walked through the Amazon Rain Forest by myself at night.

What quote/motto do you live by?

Tell us your Optus story.  When did you start and what position?  Have you moved positions/jobs?

I started in the SAT department in the summer of 2018. I’ve stayed in this department because it rocks!

What is your official job title?

Senior Services Coordinator

What SHOULD your job title be?

Professional E-mail Reader

Describe your day to day job.

Reviewing tickets, searching for techs on the map, making phone calls, e-mails, then some more e-mails and more phone calls, followed up with extensive note-taking. Then I check my e-mail.

What is one thing that Optus does better than any other employer you have had in the past?

Optus makes working here fun. They provide activities and lots and lots of food.

Tell us about one learning or growth opportunity you have had while working at Optus.

I was able to go on-site visits to see firsthand what the technicians do.  This provides information that you cannot otherwise know.

What do you like most about working at Optus?

Talking with people across the nation and working with maps.

Have you received recognition from Optus on a job well done?  If so, what was the recognition?

I received VIP Award for the Service department for Q1 in 2021. My family and I were so excited.

We like to say, Optus is like a family.  Who at Optus is like family to you and why?

Daniel and Christa are like our SAT parents. They keep us in line and on task, but sometimes bring us a cookie and tell us we are doing good.
