Candice Moore: Employee Spotlight

Where did you grow up?

Born and raised in Jonesboro.

Where did you go to school?

I went to Jonesboro Public Schools all through High School and graduated from Arkansas State University

Brag about your family.

My family is absolutely wonderful. I have known my husband since I was about 3 years old and he was 8. My mom worked for his dad and our parents became close friends. We stated dating after I graduated High School, and the rest is history. We have been together for 22 years and married for 16. We have a beautiful daughter together. She is the perfect mix of us both. Luckily, she got her wit and ability to dance from her Daddy because Momma has no rhythm.

What do you do for fun?

We like to do lots of things like go to concerts, travel, and spend time at the lake. However, during the Spring, we are traveling to watch Abby compete in Dance Competitions.

What was your first job?

Funny story! My first job was a radio show host on a local country Radio Station, Kickin 106.7. My uncle was friends with the station owner, and I would go out and help with different events on the weekends. Once I turned 15 and got my work permit, I got my own radio spot on the weekends.

What is your dream job?

My dream job would be to own my own Med Spa. I have always had a passion for skincare and cosmetics. I’ve worked for several Cosmetic lines over the years and spent a year as the Cosmetics Manager at Dillard’s prior to working at Optus.

What is something very few people know about you?

Well, I’m an open book so I’m not sure about this one. Maybe… I don’t care for sweets, especially ice cream. I may have it once a year but it’s a hard NO for me any other time.

What quote/motto do you live by?

No matter what the outcome, there is always a silver lining.

Tell us your Optus story.  When did you start and what position?  Have you moved positions/jobs?

I started at Optus in Jan of 2014 as a Lead Generation Specialist, having absolutely NO clue about telecom. To say that I was nervous was an understatement because I had spent the previous 14 years dealing with Fashion and Cosmetics and this was totally out of my comfort zone, but I trusted that God had a plan and just went with it. Since that time, I have moved up several times and now serve as a Senior Strategic Account Manager on the Campus team.

What is your official job title?

Senior Strategic Account Manager

What SHOULD your job title be?

UMMM, lol. Not really sure about that.

Describe your day-to-day job.

Day to day consists of working with large Campus Environment Clients. We work together to identify current challenges within their current telecom environment and find creative ways to overcome the challenges and fix current problems.

What is one thing that Optus does better than any other employer you have had in the past?

Optus truly values their employees and the volunteer work that they do outside of the office.

Tell us about one learning or growth opportunity you have had while working at Optus.

I’ve had the opportunity to step outside of my box and learn new technical skills that led to certifications in Networking and Cybersecurity.

What do you like most about working at Optus?

My coworkers are like family and getting to dress comfortably for work.

Have you received recognition from Optus on a job well done?  If so, what was the recognition?

Absolutely! I have been awarded the VIP sales award several times and was recognized for yearly quota attainment as well.

We like to say, Optus is like a family.  Who at Optus is like family to you and why?

Everyone is like family. I do my best to get to know everyone that works here but I am closest to the sales team. Specifically, the “Gals” in Sales, even though I am old enough to be their mother!
