Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Snellville, GA and then moved to the Covington, GA area after high school.
Where did you go to school?
I graduated from Shiloh High School near Snellville GA, and I got my AAS at DeKalb college in Covington, GA.
Brag about your family.
I’ve been married to Jason for over 30 years. We have three grown children. The oldest son and youngest daughter still live at home, and my middle one lives in Mesa, AZ. I miss him every day!
What do you do for fun?
I love to read. I usually read over 100 books a year. My Kindle goes pretty much everywhere I go. My husband and I have started traveling more now that our children are grown. We’ve called 2022 the year of the concerts. We have attended at least one concert almost every month this year and only one has been here in Springfield. It’s been a lot of fun.
What was your first job?
My first job was at a one-hour photo lab. Showing my age here, but I don’t even think those exist anymore. I started off on the register, then moved to printing pictures, and finally to camera sales.
What is your dream job?
When I was younger, I wanted to be a photographer. I love taking pictures and preserving memories.

It’s okay to not be perfect.
Tell us your Optus story. When did you start and what position? Have you moved positions/jobs?
I started at Optus in 2006 when we moved to Arkansas as a customer care rep. I also worked as a Sales coordinator during that time. I left in 2010 to work in Telecom at O’Reilly Auto. I returned in 2016 as a SAT rep on the O’Reilly team. I was then promoted to Senior Services Coordinator in 2017, then Lead Services Coordinator in 2019. In 2022 I was promoted to a hybrid roll of lead services coordinator and senior customer care specialist. Finally, I was promoted to Service Delivery Supervisor in July of 2022.

What SHOULD your job title be?
My team has called me The Oracle. And Mom. Maybe Team Mom. ????
Describe your day-to-day job.
My main goal every day is to support the Service Delivery Team. I do that by triaging new cases, answering lots of phone calls and questions, and working on tasks and invoicing issues. We are also working on training and development plans for the team and, of course, coaching and mentoring.
What is one thing that Optus does better than any other employer you have had in the past?
One thing that is important to me is a somewhat flexible schedule and ability to schedule time off easily.
Tell us about one learning or growth opportunity you have had while working at Optus.
I’m actually getting ready to start a leadership mentoring program next month that I’m really excited about.
What do you like most about working at Optus?
While I do value being a remote employee, I really enjoy my monthly trips to the office. It’s good to be around my team in person regularly.

I’ve been the VIP for services.
What is your favorite part of the community Optus has cultivated?
I feel like my team is a big family. I mean, they sometimes call me mom.
