Optus Awards Scholarship to Taylor Greer in Honor of Adam Harrington | Press Release

JONESBORO, Ark.—Optus, a national cloud advisory and IT services company, named Taylor Greer as the recipient of the 2024 Optus Family Scholarship, an educational fund established in honor of Adam Harrington, the son of former long-time employee Neal Harrington.

Greer is the daughter of Optus’ Plant Manager, Mike Greer, and a recent graduate of Perryville High School, who has demonstrated exceptional dedication to academic excellence and the local community. She has actively participated in numerous community service programs, including the Adopt-A-Highway Litter Control program, toy drives for St. Jude, canned food drives, and holiday charities. Greer consistently ranked in the top 20% of the class, earned A/B honor roll, and participated in the National Honor Society, cheer, band, and Spanish club.

Of Greer’s selection, Optus’ Founder and Chief Customer Officer Mark Duckworth said, “While we are always immensely proud of our scholarship recipients, this year’s selection is extra deserving. Not only did Taylor excel in her academic, extracurricular, and community endeavors, but she did it while undergoing multiple rounds of chemotherapy. Taylor is an excellent example of the characteristics we value at Optus—dedication, perseverance, and positivity. We are grateful for her full recovery and wish her the best as she pursues her career goals.”

The Optus Family Scholarship is an annual scholarship awarded based on merit with the recipient selected by an internal committee comprised of Optus employees. Pending eligibility, the scholarship will be renewed for up to three years. To qualify, Greer must be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Greer aspires to work at St. Jude as a service animal specialist.

The Optus Family Scholarship is given in memory of Adam Harrington, the son of Neal and Rhonda Harrington. Harrington graduated from Nettleton High School and attended the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville.
